TOKYO, June 28, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) has decided to increase its chloroprene rubber price in markets outside Japan as from shipments on July 1, 2010.
Specifically, the price will be increased by more than US$400/m.t. for US-dollar-based transactions, or by more than 300/m.t. for euro-based transactions.
The price increase reflects the sharp rise in raw material costs. SDK has concluded that it has no alternative but to ask its customers to bear a part of the cost increase in order to ensure the stable supply of chloroprene rubber and the continuation of its business.
