Osaka, Japan, Sept 16, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - Panasonic today announced that it has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), one of the highly-recognized global indexes for socially responsible investment (SRI), for the sixth year in a row.
The DJSI World is compiled annually by Dow Jones and Switzerland's Sustainable Asset Management (SAM), based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance. The DJSI World recognizes the top 10 percent of the leading 2,500 companies in the world. Panasonic was among the 318 companies named to this index this year, as its environmental initiatives including climate change mitigation strategies and recycling efforts received high marks.
Panasonic's aspiration for global excellence as a Green Innovation Company encompasses two simultaneous goals: sustainable management through manufacturing and CSR excellence in contributing to a sustainable society.
