HONG KONG, Dec 17, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - London Business School's MBA Employment Report 2010 has shown that the employment rate for its students gaining employment within three months has jumped by 10 percentage points to 91% this year, as compared to 2009 figures.
The latest report also highlights good prospects in the Asian market for MBA students, with the mean salary package of US$178k. This has helped Asia's ranking jump to number three in terms of mean salary for MBA graduates of London Business School globally.
"2010 has been a great year for London Business School. The increase in the number of MBA students finding employment soon after graduating highlights the increasing demand for our graduates across the globe", said Fiona Sandford, Director of Career Services at London Business School.
London Business School's full-time MBA programme is currently ranked number one in the world by the Financial Times.
The 2009 employment report showed the mean salary package of MBA graduates working in Asia holding the lowest ranking versus other world regions. In the 2010 report however, its ranking jumped to number three, just below the Middle East and Europe (excluding the UK).
According to Sandford, "There is no doubt that emerging markets in Asia and the Middle East are most attractive to MBA graduates. The global insights and worldwide network offered by the School greatly benefit the students. MBA graduates from London Business School are therefore well-equipped to work in a variety of different places around the world, including the emerging markets."

Of those who have found employment, the majority (71%) commenced work with a new employer. Around 1 in 10 (12%) went back to work with a previous employer, while 8% took the plunge and started their own business.
Reflecting the international background of most London Business School students, almost half (43%) of those who graduated this year and have found employment will be working overseas. The high number of graduates heading abroad is a product of the School's efforts to strengthen international links by holding events such as the Middle East Careers Week and networking events in New York, Shanghai, Dublin, Paris and Switzerland.
According to the MBA Employment Report 2010, financial services remains the preferred field for graduates, with over a third (38%) choosing this sector. It was closely followed by industry - including technology and telecommunications - with 37% of graduates, and 25% opted for consulting.
"As technology and social media play an ever-increasing role in our lives, people's interest in working in these areas has also grown. Six percent of our graduates have found roles in technology and telecommunications - now the most popular sector within industry", added Sandford.
London Business School's MBA is a full-time programme that runs for 15-21 months.
