Dell's goal is to expand its leading-edge advantage of providers of computer servers. The servers are used to run the Web services of Google, Baidu and other clients. Dell is interest in acquiring all the things about the data center. This business is contributing to half of the profit of Dell.
Dell is gaining computer server orders of Baidu, Tencent, Alibaba and other Chinese Internet companies. Dell will use the experience of providing technology to U.S. companies such as Google and Facebook to win the Chinese market.
Dell has about 70% server market share of the the cloud data center services in the United States and about 60% market share in China. The demand for data center operators help Dell's net profit doubled in the last quarter, growing from 341 million to 945 million. In the February of this year, Dell spent about 800 million U.S. dollars to acquire the data storage company Compellent Technologies.
Everychina.com suggests that Dell plans to double the number of service centers in China to 2,000. Dell will also expand the sales network in Asian countries. Dell currently has 15,000 points of sale in Asian countries. China has become Dell's largest market besides the United States.
