KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - The number of ageing offshore platforms has increased globally and a substantial number are facing operation beyond their intended design life. With increasing focus on the state of offshore installations as many approach and often exceed their original design life, there is a need for practical and cost effective methods to assess facility condition and assist operators and authorities in making decisions about the future investment and divestment of these assets.
In view of this, the Offshore Facilities Integrity Management conference will be held from 5th to 7th March, 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This conference will look at how participants can extend their facilities lifespan to ensure safe operations and to ensure maximum oil extraction from existing wells.
Participants of this conference will be able to gain insights into topics such as reviewing new codes and standards; extending the life cycle of aging offshore facilities and ensuring it's reliability in the long run; elevating the safety standards at platforms to eliminate LTIs; mitigating, controlling and preventing corrosion of facilities with proven technologies; putting in place cost efficient maintenance and offshore platform operations; and ensuring that the facility is ready to react to disasters with a good emergency response programme in place.
A post conference course on Facilities Integrity Management Framework will be facilitated by Adbelaziz Salah who has 30 years experience in upstream & downstream oil and gas projects management and operation interface. His experiences include integrity management of pipelines, topside facilities and subsurface equipment.
