SEOUL, S.KOREA, Nov 23, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - Suprema, Inc., a global leader in biometrics and identification solution, launches RealScan-G1, a compact fingerprint live scanner with FBI PIV certification and live finger detection technology. The RealScan-G1 also features Suprema's unique 'hybrid type' live finger detection (LFD) technology. "The technology is based on the fact that dynamic image characteristics of the fake fingers from the scanner can be distinguished from those of live fingers. By the advanced analysis algorithm to catch the abnormalities in dynamic changing pattern of fingerprints images and static features such as ridge patterns and local intensity distribution, fake fingers are clearly distinguished from those of live fingers. This new LFD technology provides effective solution to protect the fingerprint system from attack via fake fingerprints," said Brian Song, CTO at Suprema.
On the hardware side, RealScan-G1 features IP54 certified rugged structure which provides extra durability under harsh conditions and it has USB2.0 interface for its power supply and data transfer. The device has wide platen (1.0 x 1.0 inch) for easier capturing. In addition, RealScan-G1 is compactly sized to fit into kiosks and mobile kits with 0.18 kg of weight. With its leading-edge features and PIV certification, the new RealScan-G1 can be applied to vast areas of government and commercial applications including national ID, immigration, healthcare, e-commerce and banking. Suprema also offers extensive product line-up of FBI (IQS appendix F) certified live scanners from palm-print, ten fingerprints and dual fingerprints and it has recently won number of government projects in US, China, India and Brazil.
