SIA Engineering Appointed by Messier-Bugatti-Dowty as Wheels and Brakes Authorised Repair Centre

Singapore Airshow, Feb 16, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - Mainboard-listed SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) today announced the signing of an agreement with Messier-BugattiDowty to appoint SIAEC as its Authorised Repair Centre (ARC). SIAEC will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for Messier-Bugatti-Dowty wheels and brakes.

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, a division of the SAFRAN Group, is a world-leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in aircraft landing and braking systems. The new agreement taps on the synergy and expertise between an OEM and an MRO Company. This will further enhance services to airlines fitted with Messier-BugattiDowty wheels and brakes in the region.

The new Messier-Bugatti-Dowty ARC status further strengthens the close cooperation between SIAEC and the SAFRAN Group. In 2011, SIAEC signed an agreement with Aircelle, a subsidiary of SAFRAN, for the repair, overhaul and service of Aircelle engine nacelles.

SIAEC has partnerships in two joint ventures with units under the SAFRAN Group - the first with Messier Services on landing gear systems, and the second with SAFRAN Electronics Asia on avionics components.

The transaction is not expected to have a material impact on SIAEC's financial performance in FY2011/12. None of the Directors or executive officers of SIAEC has any interest, direct or indirect, in the transaction.
