OIKN to Collaborate with Four US Technology Companies in Nusantara Development
Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) has announced MOUs with Cisco, Autodesk, Microsoft and ESRI

Nusantara IKN's model city

NUSANTARA, Indonesia, Nov 19, 2023 - (ACN Newswire) - The Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) will collaborate with four American technology (IT) companies to support the development of Indonesia's new capital city (IKN) Nusantara. The four American technology companies that have signed MoUs with OIKN are Cisco, Autodesk, Microsoft, and Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI).

"This collaboration shows the world's interest and trust in the development of Nusantara as a modern, smart, sustainable, resilient, green, and inclusive city," OIKN Head Bambang Susantono said on Sunday (Nov 19) while announcing that OIKN had secured five MoUs with four technology companies and one educational institution.

Cisco is participating in installing smart city devices, such as the development of sensor technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) networks for collecting, sending, and utilizing data and information in the field for various smart technology solutions, such as water and energy management, transportation management, smart buildings, and city management.

Autodesk is supporting the OIKN with technology that helps improve the performance of urban planning through visualization, optimization and simulation of building, public space and infrastructure planning, which boosts the efficiency and sustainability of development project management.

Meanwhile, ESRI is participating in developing spatial-based analytical technology. This technology is utilized for mapping, monitoring, remote sensing, and managing spatial data. This helps the authority carry out city planning, development, and management. The use of geospatial data and information can be implemented in managing natural resources such as water, forests, wildlife, and biodiversity, as well as mitigating disaster risks.

Finally, Microsoft is participating in the process of digital transformation in Nusantara. The improvement of productivity and competitiveness can be achieved through the provision of fast, easy, and efficient services. Microsoft will develop smart city solutions in various aspects of city management, and develop a safe and resilient data center and cloud computing digital infrastructure.

Microsoft will also increase digital literacy and computer skills education initiatives for the community, Susatono added.

The OIKN has also established a collaboration with Stanford University's Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability for a research and innovation center in Nusantara, and going forward, the construction of the Stanford campus in the new capital will be explored.
