"As mobile technologies transform the ICT landscape and revolutionise business models and marketing approaches, understanding this small but powerful device is vital to manoeuvring through the future ICT landscape. CommunicAsia2012 Summit brings together industry thought leaders, government ministries and international industry associations to generate in-depth discussion and knowledge sharing of strategies and solutions," says Ms. Lindy Wee, Director of PR and Conferences from event organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES).

Mobile Technologies

Industry experts predict that the value of mobile payments globally for physical and digital goods will reach $600 billion in 3 to 5 years' time. VeriFone will share its experience in working with wallet providers like Google and ISIS, and the elements necessary for a successful mobile payment business model. CommunicAsia2012 Summit's tracks will uncover the massive potential in mobile advertising and how companies should navigate the app world to optimise ROI.

Against the backdrop of increasing healthcare costs and rise in chronic diseases, industry practitioners will share their experiences in using m-health technology to optimise resources and improve patient care. The track features Singapore's Mr. Eric Loh, CEO of EPI Mobile Health Solutions (S) Pte Ltd (formerly known as Ephone International (S) Pte Ltd); the company that made headlines at CommunicAsia in 2010 with an innovation that enables users to monitor heart rate via the mobile platform.

"CommunicAsia is one of Asia's most established and premier launch pad for enterprises to showcase their technological innovation. We exhibited and launched EPI Life at the event in 2010, which got us international recognition and success. I am delighted to be presenting at the CommunicAsia2012 Summit and to share my views on the mobile health industry and how technological advances have enabled the development of ground-breaking mobile healthcare solutions to enhance the quality of life and care for users," says Mr. Loh.

Further zoning in on mobile technologies to equip participants with knowledge necessary for the ultra-connected and dynamic future of ICT, the Summit will feature dedicated workshops on mobile marketing strategies and mobile security on 22 June 2012.

Next Generation Broadband

Wi-Fi offload has evolved into a mainstream strategy for mobile broadband operators, due to the limited licensed spectrum. The track 'Next Generation Mobile Broadband' will explore the new ecosystems that are evolving to address the unsolved issues of delivering trusted, non-proprietary, standards-based Wi-Fi-cellular interworking. Mr. Dave Williams, Chief Technology Officer of Stoke will discuss the ROI, growth models, as well as challenges and innovation that the new wireless model presents.

Cloud Computing

The initial frenzy around cloud computing is stabilising and telecom companies are now better positioned to compete in cloud services. For the track 'Telco Rising Cloud', Mr. Stevan Hoyle, President, Asia Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa, Vodafone Global Enterprise, will deliver a keynote presentation on mobility in the cloud and how businesses can build and maintain the cloud ecosystem. Mr. Simone Brunozzi, Technology Evangelist, APAC, Amazon Web Services will be presenting the keynote and revealing the 'Business Opportunities in the Cloud' and its benefits to businesses.

Satellite Communications

The 'Satellite Communications' track will take a comprehensive look into the opportunities available in the satellite sector. He will be joined by industry heavyweights such as Mr. Erez Antebi, CEO of Gilat Satellite Networks; Mr. Richard Lord, CTO of Altobridge and Mr. Titus Yong, VP of SingTel Satellite who will shed light on maximising business efficiencies for various industries using satellite communications.

Over-The-Top Technology (OTT)

The track 'OTT Business Models' looks at winning strategies and successful business models for Over-The-Top (OTT) Technology with a refreshing approach to OTT as an opportunity rather than a threat for telcos to innovate and compete. Mr. Michael MacDonald, CTO of Southeast Asia, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., will explore whether telco can operators play a role in the new webscape.
